Wow! We are exhausted! Going back and
forth from the hospital numerous times a
day and caring for a sweet, very busy,
23 month old in between is a lot of work
I wasn't prepared for (not to mention
daily tasks like bills and laundry).
This time in our lives is hectic...God
is so good and we know it's only for
a season :)
Audrey is now 33 1/2 weeks gestation and
almost 2 weeks old (on Sunday)! The days
have gone by so fast...and we are still in
disbelief that the little baby we are visiting
is in fact our own.
She continues to do well and recently
"graduated" to an isolette. This will be
her environment for a while, until she
can regulate her temperature better on
her own and gains weight at a steady pace.
She is now 3# 8.6 oz...we have decided that
pictures don't really give an adequate
representation of how small she really
is. Her phototherapy (bili lights)
should be removed today and she has
been tolerating feedings well - through a
feeding tube. We are so excited for the
day I can start nursing her...which is probably
a few weeks away. The mother in
me will actually start feeling like she is mine
once I can start feeding her :)
We don't get to
hold her much as it's important she stays
in her warm environment and can
get as much rest as possible. She has a
PICC line (peripherally inserted central
catheter) which hinders us from holding
her as well. She will probably be in the
NICU for another 3-4 weeks. We
appreciate your prayers and will try
to update more often. Have a blessed
New Years!
