Friday, January 28th, Audrey was discharged from
the NICU and was finally able to come home!
We stayed in Birmingham for the weekend
just to make sure there wasn't a need to take
her back unexpectedly.
We had a great welcoming in the driveway...
Caleb and my parents were waiting for us
to arrive.
Awaiting discharge...not happy about
waiting in her car seat
Caleb meets his baby sister...he was able to
recognize her from the pictures we've been
showing him and was very excited to meet her
Wanting to be a helper already...he insisted on
helping carry Audrey inside :)
Opening his gifts we brought for him
Washing his hands before being able to hold his sister
So proud...Caleb was absolutely excited to hold her!
We bought a new stroller before leaving Birmingham...Caleb
somehow climbed into the (very small) basket underneath
This is a doll stroller my parents had in the
play room...Audrey seemed to fit so
perfectly
Our family
We were so happy to finally come home from the NICU!
It all seemed to go by so fast now that we look
back - such a busy time for all of us. God is
so good and was there with us every
step of the way - just as he promises.
Audrey came home a healthy 5# 8oz at 6 weeks
of age. The whole experience was emotional,
overwhelming, exciting at times and so rewarding!
Thank you for the prayers and thoughts!
